Aduana Stars defender kills police officer

The Dormaa Ahenkro Divisional Police Command has arrested a defender of Aduana Stars for knocking down and killing a police officer.

Farouk Adams allegedly absconded after the incident but an informant helped the police to apprehend him.

The Dormaa Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Anthony Appiah, who revealed this to TV3 in an interview with sports journalist Juliet Bawuah, indicated that Farouk Adams would be arraigned before a court on Wednesday, March 3.

He said the police officer was riding his motor bicycle when the vehicle knocked him down.

Chief Supt Appiah explained that the suspect absconded after the accident but upon a search and information from the public, he was apprehended.

It was after the arrest that it came out that Farouk Adams is a player of Aduana Stars.

The Commander said they will send him to court for remand to enable them continue their investigations.

Team officials are yet to comment about the accident.
