Ghana condemns Houthi attacks in UAE & S Arabia
The government of Ghana has condemned the recent attacks purported to have been carried out by Houthi militia at the Abu Dhabi International Airport in the United Arab Emirates and Jannah in Saudi Arabia.
“The attacks are a violation of international law and threaten efforts aimed at restoring peace and security to the region,” Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration said in a press release on Monday.
We’ll campaign like Jehovah Witnesses – NDC Nat’l Chairman
NDC’s Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo has reiterated that his party will engage in gross house-to-house campaigning like the Jehovah Witnesses sect ahead of the 2024 polls.
He charged members of the NDC in the Ashanti Region to lead this campaign.
Mr Ofosu-Ampofo was speaking on Monday, January 24 at a townhall meeting organised by his party in Kumasi, the Ashanti Region capital.

The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) says his party is ready to engage government transforming the economy to save Ghanaians from the woes they are suffering.

Motorbike riding banned in Bawku
The Upper East Regional Security Council (REGSEC) has banned the riding of motor bikes in the Bawku municipality as a result of the “volatile” security situation.
The ban affects both sexes, a press release insisted.
Deputy Majority Leader wants ‘genuine’ concerns about e-levy addressed
Deputy Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has called on members of his caucus to take genuine interest in some of the concerns raised against the Electronic Transfer Levy Bill, popularly known as e-levy.
“I believe the proposed rate and concerns about waste in our public finance system are examples,” he said at a pre-sitting capacity workshop for the Majority Caucus on Monday.
Gov’t to also hold townhall meeting on e-levy
The Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, will lead a government delegation to the Eastern Region on Thursday for a townhall meeting on the controversial Electronics Transfer Levy, popularly known as e-levy.
Communications Minister Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah and Deputy Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin will be part of the delegation.
NDC holds townhall meeting on e-levy
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) will be gathering at 1:00pm at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) to raise questions about the state of the economy and, particularly, the introduction of the Electronic Transactions Levy, popularly known as e-levy.
Among speakers at the scheduled gathering will be National Communications Officer Sammy Gyamfi, former deputy Minister of Power John Jinapor and former Agric Minister Eric Opoku.
