2023 ICBMED of UPSA comes off Wed., April 26-27

    The 8th edition of the International Conference on Business Management and Entrepreneurial Development (ICBMED), held annually by the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), is scheduled to come off on Wednesday, April 26 and Thursday, April 27.

    UPSA’s flagship conference is themed ‘Business Growth, Structural Change and Economic Development in Periods of Economic Crises’ this year.

    In an announcement about the international conference, UPSA said the 2023 edition seeks to provide an interdisciplinary platform for researchers, business practitioners, policymakers and educators to discuss and explore the issues relevant to the conference theme.

    Opened to the general public but virtual, the conference will be exploring how firms respond in periods of economic crisis, and how timely and critical providing managerially relevant implications are.

    “It is also important for scholars and researchers to explore potential structural changes that could drive economic development and business growth in Sub-Saharan Africa.”

    The conference is usually designed by technical experts of the University, and other local and international affiliate institutions with an aim to cover all relevant and critical areas of the subject of Entrepreneurship Development, Management and Marketing.

    It selects a relevant challenging issue and provides a forum to interrogate the issue and propose research-based solutions.

    ICMED thus seeks to enable the university to expand the frontiers of knowledge in a way that ties into its vision, focusing on scholarship through scientific research process and methods, as well as Professionalism for the competitiveness of firms and industries, both locally and internationally.

    The keynote speaker will be the Chief Executive of Dalex Finance and  Leasing Company Limited, Kenneth Thompson.

    UPSA Vice Chancellor Professor Abednego Amartey will chair the conference.
