The Chairman of the United Front Party, Nana Agyenim Boateng, has alleged that the Deputy Commissioner of the Electoral Commission, Safo Kantanka, was bribed by ‘flagbearer’ Kwesi Addai before the latter’s presidential nomination forms were accepted.
According to Agyenim Boateng, the EC was immediately notified by the Party of the ineligibility of Kwesi Addai popularly known as Odike to stand on the ticket of the UFP after he took nomination forms from the EC.
Agyenim said that after notifying the EC in writing, Safo Kantanka disagreed with the Party over its letter.
This stance of Kantanka allegedly incurred the displeasure of the Commissioner, Dr Kwadwo Afari Gyan, who affirmed it is only a party chairman who can endorse a flagbearer.
Agyenim Boateng alleged that Kwesi Addai gave Safo Kantanka GH ¢30, 000 for the Deputy Commissioner to accept his forms.
Speaking on TV 3’s Midday Live, Nana Agyenim Boateng insisted that the Party has no flagbearer and their legal team is preparing a writ against the EC’s decision to accept Odike’s presidential nomination forms.
“We don’t have a flagbearer as of now and aside our legal team putting documents together to sue the EC, we are putting up red banners at all our offices to protest the EC’s decision,” disclosed Boateng.
