Actress Akuapem Poloo has disclosed that she still regrets taking a nude photo with her son and posting it on social media in 2020.

Akuapem Poloo said her once criminal act continues to haunt her emphasising her worry over the situation and how her son will take the news when he grows up.

“Since childhood, till I grew up, my only regret is the picture I took with my son. Aside from that, I have no regrets.

The memory, she added “is seriously haunting me.”

“I’m thinking about my son, he’ll grow up. As he is growing now, he’s asking a lot of questions already.

“As a single mother, I need to prepare myself for how I’ll answer him for him to understand the situation of how his nakedness and he standing in front of me as if he’s looking at mommy’s nakedness will sound in his mind. That is my only regret,” the actress stated in an interview on Accra FM on Wednesday, May 22.

In July 2020, the actress posted a naked photo of herself and her son while she squatted in front of her son to mark her son’s seventh birthday.

Her actions sparked public concerns and the actress was lambasted for such act. Consequently, the Accra High Court sentenced her to three months in prison in April 2021 explaining it was a punitive measure to deter other persons from engaging in similar act.

Akuapem Poloo pleaded guilty to three charges; publication of obscene materials, engaging in domestic violence in ways to undermine the privacy and integrity of another person and engaging in domestic violence which can spoil the dignity of another human being.

She appealed the jail sentence on Monday (April 19, 2021) at the Accra High Court [Criminal Court 2 Division].

After spending two days in prison, she satisfied the bail conditions of the court – the sum of Gh¢80,000 with three sureties and depositing her passport at the court’s registry.

She was then released from prison on bail pending an appeal of her 90-day jail term.

The Appeals court in December 2021 impose Ghc12,000 fine on the actress and reversed her 90-day jail term.
