The Minority in Parliament had to go back with the petition it intended to present to the Governor of the Bank of Ghana after Tuesday’s demonstration dubbed #OccupyBoGProtest.

Minority Leader Dr Cassiel Ato Baah Forson felt disrespected Dr Ernest Yedu Addison failed to show up to receive the petition.

None of his two deputies was available to receive the petition.

On their behalf, the Director of Security at the Bank, Retired Wing Commander Kwame Asare Boateng, who is also a legal practitioner, led a delegation of officials to receive the petition.

He was not given the petition.

He, however, revealed the reason the Governor nor his deputies were not available to receive the petition.

“We were informed that you will be coming to present a petition to the Governor,” Wing Commander (rtd) Asare Boateng stated.

“The three governors as we speak are currently meeting the IMF. . .and there is nobody there.

“So, the Governor has asked that I meet you and take the petition on his behalf and we will accordingly respond to the petition.”

The Minority says it will announce the next date of procession to the central bank in the coming days.
