The Chief Executive Officer of Ghana National Gas Company, Dr. Ben K.D Asante, commissioned the Juansa Community Center on Friday.

The Center, which is the largest in the Ashanti Region, is expected to host all community activities in the Juansa township.

Speaking at the ceremony to commission the Center, Member of Parliament for the Asante Akyem Andy Appiah Kubi was full of praise for the community center and added that politics promotes development at the same time can destroy development.

“Politics can cause development to take place in a country at the same time can also destroy development in a country so we all must be mindful of whatsoever we say at certain times in the country,” he said.

He charged the people of Juansa to be committed and be protective of the development that has come.

According to him, everybody must endeavour to maintain this facility to be able to last long for the people of Juansa.

He further revealed that it was through his effort together with others that the Juansa township has good roads in the community, adding that a lot of good things have come out from Juansa through the government of his political party.

It is the vision and will of this government to ensure development spring all over Asante Akyem and other communities for all to feel comfortable, he stated.

“I went to see the Chief Executive officer of Ghana Gas to discussed a lot of things which include community center and others. I told him the JHS, I will use my Common Fund to continue to build but come and do a community center for the people of Juansa, so he agreed and that is what we are seeing today,” he revealed.

He reiterated the need for Juansa to have a new hospital that will cater for the township and its enclave.

“I will ask the Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Gas to have another look at our hospital and turn his attention to help build this hospital since our township is in dire need of a health facility.”

The Chief Executive Officer of Ghana National Gas, Dr. Ben Asante, disclosed that Ghana Gas is a trusted and reliable gas company that this country rely heavily on for power generation.

He added that gas has been the real deal for this country’s electricity for the past seven years.

“As a company, Ghana Gas lifts natural resources which is the gas that contribute to the economic development of this country, operates infrastructure required for gathering, processing, transporting and marketing of the natural resources from Ghana and beyond the borders of this country.

“The raw natural gas that VRA and independent power producers transform are able to use it for power generation and non-power application,” he said.

“So, we don’t only do the gas but rather something also called corporate social responsibilities. Today is the turn of Juansa township which we see here as the community center.

“One of the company’s mission is community development, so if one can see this development, then it is our community development footprints all over the country,” he explained.

“We have heard all that have been said and all the inscriptions on placards displayed here by the children and we’ll work towards achieving that,” he assured.

He also thanked the people of Juansa.

“I am grateful for all the support from Juansa.”

Ghana Gas contributes largely in areas such as education, health, water and sanitation and sports.

Juansa manhene Nana Agyemang Tiatoa, MP of Asante Akyem North Andy Appiah Kubi, Municipal Chief Executive Francis Oti-Boateng, tranditional leaders, contractor of the project Akluamoah Adams of Living Grace Constructions, Juansa community township, Ghana Gas staff among others are the other dignitaries that graced the commissioning.
