Three police officers arrested for hiring AK47 to armed robbers

Three police officers have been arrested by the Greater Accra Regional Police Command’s anti robbery squad for allegedly hiring AK47 rifles  to armed robbers for robbery. The officers stationed at Weija and Kokrobite allegedly gave the  guns to the robbers  over the weekend for a robbery operation, a source at the Weija District Police Command told Onua FM. The alleged robbers were said to have been involved in a serious accident on Saturday near Tetegu whilst they were on their way for the robbery operation. Ironically, they were rescued by an ex-police officer who sent them to a nearby health facility for treatment. According to an eyewitness, the ex-officer became suspicious of the victims whilst eavesdropping on their conversation about guns they left in the accident car. The people were later confronted whilst on admission and mentioned the names of the three police officers, whom they claimed gave them guns for robbery. Checks indicate that the three indeed signed for the three AK47 rifles, which have retrieved by the police. 3 in critical condition after robbery In another development, three persons from Chochlombo Nkanta a suburb of Yeji in the Pru East District of the Brong Ahafo region have been attacked by armed robbers. One of the armed robbers was arrested and currently in the custody of the police in Yeji.
