Paul Dogboe, trainer and father of Ghana’s undefeated boxer Isaac Dogboe has revealed the amount involved in staging the bout between Dogboe and Cesar Juarez last Saturday. Isaac Dogboe became an interim WBO Junior Featherweight title holder after he knocked out the Mexican at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra. In an exclusive interview with Samuel Amoesi of Onua FM at his residence in Accra, , Paul Dogboe said that the money involved for staging the bout was gigantic. “We spent almost about 400,000 dollars. I don’t have that kind of money. Like I always say, for some reasons, God always intervenes.” Paul Dogboe, who doubles as the CEO of  Rising Star  Africa Promotions, was full of thanks for the teeming fans who showed up to support his son. “I thank Ghanaians for supporting. The whole Christian community, Muslims community and the traditional rulers, ambassadors and diplomatic corps who were present.” He also spoke about the possibility of staging Isaac’s next bout in Ghana. “We have people doing that now. We have to ask Ghanaians whether they want the fight. If they want to see Isaac Dogboe and Jessie Magdaleno in Ghana, it’s a lot of money so if Ghanaians want the fight or corporate Ghana want the fight they can make it happen.” Plans are ongoing for Isaac to mount the ring against Jessie Magdaleno in March with the venue expected to be named soon.
