Private legal practitioner and Parliamentary Candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Francis Xavier Sosu has won the Madina Constituency seat from the incumbent Sadique Boniface Abubakar of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Sosu polled 62,127 votes to beat the Minister of State at the Office of the Vice President.
Boniface Abubakar managed to poll 46,985 votes.
Meanwhile, the NDC Member of Parliament for Klottey Korle Constituency, Dr. Zanetor Rawlings, has retained her seat in the parliamentary elections.
She polled 39,193 votes, beating her contender Prince Appiah Debrah of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He polled 31,239 votes.
In the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency, Lydia Seyram Alhassan of the NPP beat John Dumelo to win the elections.
She won the seat after polling 39,851 of the total votes cast in the elections held on Monday, December 7.
Mr Dumelo of the NDC managed to poll 37,778.
The Independent Candidate had 108 votes. The candidate of the People’s National Convention (PNC) polled 160 votes.
Total valid votes cast was 77,604. Rejected stood at 595.
