The derbies, battles to end winning droughts and for the like of Berry Ladies, the hopes of clinching on to a 100 percent record will definitely throw in the weekend nothing but ecstatic views to the fans across all league centers. And to the pragmatics, no league Centre across the nation failed to produce a goal in the week 4 of the WPL. Statistically, both the Southern and Northern zones produced a total of 21 goals with 11 coming from the Northern zone and 10 from the Southern.

Ampem Darkoa who are at the summit of the Northern Zone log with 10 points scored 3 as their visitors, supreme ladies responded twice. Supreme ladies who have lost two game so far sits 4th on the league standings with 6 points but no goal to their credit because they’ve conceded 6 just as they’ve score 6.

The most anticipated Northern derby over the weekend between Northern Ladies and Pearl Pia failed to produce a winner as both sides took home a point each after a 1 all draw. The results leaves both sides with 5 points each but only a goal will separate 5th place Northern Ladies from 6th position Pearl Pia.

A Abigail Tutuwaah’s goal in the 56 minute will mean Kumasi Sports Academy have tasted their second defeat in a row after losing 0-1 to Prison ladies. The result leaves Prison ladies 3 points adrift the leaders.

Also, in what was supposed to be a derby, Fidous Yakubu’s brace and Ella Oheneba Afriyie’s 74th minute goal was enough to see Ashtown Ladies whiplashed struggling Fabulous Ladies by 3 goals to nil leaving the Fabulous Ladies hanging at the button of the zone’sstandings

At the Southern Zone, not much of a difference was witnessed .

Ladystrikers travelled to beat Sea Lions by 1-3. The victory will mean ladystrikers rest at the 3rd place on the southern zone table as they trail leaders, Berry Ladies with 3 points.

Berry Ladies found themselves in a derby match against Police ladies where they recorded their 4th straight win of the campaign.

Thelma Baffour, through a spot kick in the 61st minute restored the visitors lead after their 32nd minute opener was cancelled a minute after. This victory leaves Berry Ladies, the only side with 100 percent winning record in the ongoing WPL.

Elsewhere, Milot Abena Pokua’s 41st minute strike ensured Soccer Intellectuals fell at their own backyard to Hasaacas Ladies. As it stands, Hasaacas Ladies are only 2 points away from catching up with Berry Ladies.

Thunder Queens and immigration ladies match ended in a 1-1 draw. Ironically, just like the score line, both Thunder Queens and Immigration Ladies have a lot of things in common on the league log. They both have -2 goals difference, 2 points, 0 wins,2 draws and 2 defeats.
