Wizkid bags two awards at 2021 MOBO Awards

Wizkid becomes the only African artist to have won large in the Music of Black Origin Awards (MOBO) awards organized on December 5. He has bagged International Artist of the year twice and African act four times with an overall record six times.

The Nigerian star boy becomes the most awarded and most decorated African artiste in the history of the awards scheme.
In previous years, Wizkid won the best African act in 2011 and 2016, Best International act in 2017 and again bagged the Best African Act in 2020 and 2021.

Rapper Dave, Little Simz, Ghetts also won the top prizes at the 2021 Mobo awards, which recognized the best in Black music from the UK and beyond.

Dave took home at this year’s MOBO awards winning best album for his second record, ‘We are all in this together’. Rapper Little Simz also bagged the best female in recognition of her triumphant third album, ‘Sometimes I might be introvert’.
The award ceremony was held in Coventry arena on Sunday after a two-year break in 2018. Last year’s awards were distributed virtually due to the pandemic.
