Ashiaman continues to produce great musical contenders in Ghana’s music industry, including Spike G very talented rapper on the Talented Kidz show.
Eric Gbenartey, known as Spike G on the reality show, has been in rap training for the past five years after his debut rap appearance when he was 7.years old.
The 12-year-old said he used to think that a good rapper could mimic rap lines from others. But now he knows that making good use of beats and great punchlines launches a rapping career.
In the beginning, his parents didn’t like the idea of him being a rapper. But as time went along, they have accepted his passion for the lyrical rhythm genre.
He said Strongman Burner is his favourite rapper because of punches and attitude. But he would equally love a collab with other musicians like Sarkodie, Stonebowy, MDK and Yaw Tog.
Speaking on his journey, Spike G said he came to talented kids out of his own. He attributes his success on the show to hard work and perseverance. He said, “The competition was difficult even though I sailed through it. My attitude, energy and lyrics helped me move through the competition.”
He also hinted that he would not be too disappointed even if he doesn’t win. Instead, he is more focused on the future after talented kids and how he can capitalize on the exposure to propel his career.
Spike G said although rapping is his passion, he will not stop schooling if he wins Talented Kidz. Currently, he is in form 2 and hopes to further to the tertiary level.
Eric said he loves football. Barcelona is his favourite team and Neiman is his favourite player.
Spike G advised young children to keep working hard and go to school. So they can earn money and live comfortably. He warned them against engaging in fraud, scamming or blood money.
He told all his fans to sit tight, keep voting for him because he was something massive planned for them on the Finals Day.
