President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has called on supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) not to engage in violence.
He asked the supporters to be of good character and wait on the Electoral Commission (EC) to announce the results of the elections.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday, December 9, Mr Akufo-Addo said: “Dear NPP Supporter,
“When you win an election, you don’t need to be aggressive. Be of good character and wait for the Electoral Commission to declare. And when you jubilate, be moderate and sensitive to public order and safety.”
The EC is expected to announce the results of the 2020 elections on Wednesday, December 9.
Supporters of the NPP as well as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have started jubilating because, in their view, their candidates have won.
