We’ve employed almost 150k youth, three times more than NDC in 8 years – YEA boss

Chief Executive Officer of Youth Employment Agency (YEA) Justin Kodua says over 143,000 youth have been employed under the various modules of the Agency since 2017.

This he said compares thinly to 63,000 in eight years under the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Lawyer Kodua touts the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as a performing party when in power against the NDC whom he says does little to change the economic narrative.

To the current YEA boss, the ruling party has done three times better in job creation for the youth in just 4 years than that of the 8 years of their major opponents.

His comparison comes to butress major achievements mentioned by the Vice President, Mahamudu Bawumia, during a recent public forum on how NPP’s policy initiatives are solving unemployment menace.

Speaking on Akoma FM‘s weekend political show ‘Wonsom’ over the weekend, Mr Kodua explained that “under my steward at the Youth Employment Agency through our four major modules namely: YEA Job Center, YEA Work Abroad, YEA Flagship program (Agriculture) and YEA Artisanal industry, we can’t say we have solved all unemployment issues in the country but at least we have outperformed in our 4-year term than that of John Mahama’s 8 years in government”.

He explained that the YEA with its current 4 thematic modules is to ensure the youth get job and the unemployment canker that turned into security threats under the NDC does not befall the country.

“We have employed almost 150,000 youth in less than 4 years, we have paid even the arrears that was transferred to us by the NDC, meanwhile the NDC only employed some 63,000 under Mills and Mahama 8-year term in office.”
