We’re devastated but unshaken – Anas’s team

January 17, 2019
Anas

Celebrated undercover journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas and his investigative team say they are devastated by the murder of one of their members, but remain resolute in exposing persons they described as nation wreckers.

Ahmed Hussein-Suale who was a key partner of Anas was shot three times in the chest and neck at close range Wednesday night near his home at Madina in Accra by some unknown assailants ridding on a motorbike.

He was one of the persons whose photographs were shown on NET2 TV last year by the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Ken Agyapong, as one of Anas’ guys and incited the public to beat him up for a handsome reward.

On the back of Ahmed’s death, Anas’ lawyer Kissi Adjabeng, wants the MP picked up for questioning.

He said inasmuch as he was not placing the murder of the journalist at the doorstep of the MP, he insisted Mr. Agyapong ought to be picked up for questioning for his action relating to Anas’ team member in the aftermath of the Number 12 investigative documentary that exposed corruption in Ghana’s football administration.

“I refuse to even mention his name. I’m saying that he engaged in a reckless conduct by exposing the young man to death by putting his picture on his NET2 TV and inviting the whole world to beat him up,” Adjabeng said in an interview on Joy FM Thursday.

A statement issued Thursday morning by the Tiger Eye PI to commiserate with the family of the deceased, called on the security agencies to unmask the elements behind the assassination and bring them to book.

“We at Tiger Eye PI are terribly devastated by the dastardly act, but remain unshaken in our resolve to pursue nation-wreckers and make corruption a high-risk activity in the country,” the statement said.

Anas and his ‘doubles’

Anas personally tweeted early Thursday “we shall not be silenced in our fight against corruption”.

It said Ahmed’s last assignment was Number12, an investigative documentary on bribery and corruption that brought football activities and administration in Ghana on their knees, leading to the removal of GFA president Kwesi Nyantakyi.
