Speaking exclusively to 3news.com at the climax of the funeral rite of Naa Mahamadu Abdulai IV in Yendi, the NPA boss said the resources to be used in maintaining law and order in Yendi could now be channelled into developing the municipality and the region at large.

“There is no denying the fact that the security officials that are posted here are a drain on the National economy,” he said, noting that the amount of money spent on them could have been sent to the Yendi Municipal Assembly or the Northern Regional Coordinating Council for developmental activities; to build schools, to build hospitals, to construct roads and dams.

“All these resources are being channelled into maintaining law and order,” he observed.
