Western Region Minister Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah has commended Media General’s regional radio station Connect FM for supporting local industries to thrive through the introduction of the Western Trade Fair.
The regional minister is hopeful the event will be extended to other areas within the Region to enable business owners as well as small and medium enterprises take advantage and market themselves to get the needed recognition both locally and internationally.
The Western Region Minister was speaking during the official launch of the December edition of the trade fair dubbed ‘Sekunde Bronya’, which is taking place at Sekondi.
Dignitaries who graced the launch included representatives from the Sekondi Takoradi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (STCCI), Association of Ghana Industry (AGI), Ghana National Chamber of Commerce, Ghana Export Promotion Authority, Trade and Industry Ministry as well as the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD).
Station Manager for Connect FM Ransford Nana Osei Asare said the station strives to support industries grow, adding it will be introducing more innovative programmes to afford more opportunities to industries, stakeholders and business partners to excel.
Metropolitan Chief Executive for Sekondi-Takoradi Abdul Mumin Issah, on his part, pledged the support of the Assembly in making the event an annual event, which will augment programmes designed by the assembly in making Sekondi-Takoradi a destination of choice for the general public especially during Christmas.
The event commenced on Sunday, December 20 and expected to close on Sunday, December 27 at the Sekondi Youth Center in the Western Region.

Saturday, 26th December: Legend Night
Sunday, 27th December: Live Band with Kofi Bentil
