Vincent Kuagbenu fired as head of Youth Employment Agency

Chief Executive of the Youth Employment Agency, Vincent Kuagbenu has been relieved of his post in a statement signed by Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah.

The statement further names one Kwabena Beechem as a successor to the position as the Chief Executive of the Youth Employment Agency. Mr. Kuagbenu is to “handover comprehensively to him by Tuesday December 8, 2015” and return to the presidency with immediate effect to be reassigned.

Vincent Kuagbenu until his appointment to the YEA was Chief Executive of the National Service Secretariat where he was fired. The letter headlined Appointment of Chief Executive of Youth Employment Agency went on further to say “His Excellency the President has identified Mr. Kwabena Beechem to be considered for appointment as the Chief Executive of the Youth Employment Agency.”

Even before Mr. Kuagbenu was appointed to replace Kobby Acheampong, some regional directors of the Youth Employment Agency pleaded with the president not to bring Mr. Kuagbenu to the position as Chief Executive.

In their statement they said “we are calling on the Presidency to halt the planned reassignment as a matter of urgency to save the image of the Agency and  allow the current Executive Director  to continue with the good work he has started  before Mr.Vincent Kuagbenu plunges the Agency into another scandal as he did with the National Service Scheme.”
