As I reflect on my time in office, I am reminded of the significant challenges that faced our nation when I first took over as President. One of the most pressing issues was the pervasive problem of erratic power supply, commonly referred to as “Dumsor.” This persistent power outage had become a source of frustration and economic hardship for many Ghanaians.
Upon assuming office, I made it a priority to address this issue and ensure that our nation’s energy needs were met. Through a combination of strategic planning, investment, and collaboration with key stakeholders, we were able to make significant progress in resolving the power crisis. Today, I am proud to say that we have made considerable strides in ensuring a more stable and reliable supply of electricity.
As I prepare to leave office, I am grateful to be able to hand over the reins to a nation that is more resilient and better equipped to address its energy challenges. The fact that I leave with the lights on, metaphorically speaking, is a testament to the progress we have made and the hope that we can continue to build upon.
Looking back, I am reminded of the countless sacrifices made by individuals, businesses, and communities that were affected by the power outages. I am also reminded of the determination and perseverance of the Ghanaian people, who refused to let the challenges we faced define their spirit and resolve.
As I depart, I am filled with a sense of pride and hope for the future. I am confident that our nation is well-positioned to continue growing and developing, driven by the innovative spirit and unwavering commitment of its citizens.
