A documentary chronicling in detail events surrounding defunct gold dealership firm, Menzgold, will be aired on Tuesday, February 9, at 9:30 pm on TV3 and repeated the same time on Thursday, February 11.
Produced by MG News reporter, Komla Adom, the 30-minute documentary takes us on a journey back to when the company was first identified, the kind of activities it has since 2014 engaged in, all through to the point it was completely shut down by the regulatory authorities.
What follows after the shutdown of the company is the crux of the documentary: tensed and heartbreaking moments, as people whose funds got locked up in the scheme many describe as Ponzi, speak on how they have been hard hit and how they are surviving.
The testimonies in the documentary are chilling; some, simply incredible, to say the least.
Ahead of the airing Komla Adom has been speaking on what to expect and what the documentary seeks to achieve.
It’s worth noting that the story of Menzgold is a long and winding one, but the documentary succinctly captures the key highlights in what makes a compelling story – the timelines, the testimonies, regulators interventions, the protests, the court processes etc.
The documentary will also be streamed live on Facebook on TV3 Ghana.
