Vice Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang was at the Obaasima Summit in 2019 encouraging women to take their place in society.
The maiden women-empowerment programme saw the former Minister of Education appear as one of the key speakers.
She noted how women who are perceived illiterates have made a strong case about the capabilities of women in the Ghanaian society.
Prof Opoku-Agyemang said despite not appearing in laboratory coats as seen at medical facilities, the woman on the farm who harvests palm kernel turns it scientifically into palm oil and other products.
“[That] you have been to school, or [you] have not been to school, that’s neither here nor there.
“Truth must be told, it’s those of us who have been to school who are the most timid.”
