[Video] Modernised Ridge Hospital opens to the public in Accra

The ultra-modern Greater Accra Regional Hospital, formerly Ridge Hospital, in Accra has opened to the public, five months after its commissioning by former president John Mahama. The 420-bed facility has a comprehensive diagnostic and treatment block with a 24-hour surgical theatre, accident and emergency unit, neonatal intensive care unit, intensive care unit, delivery unit, pharmacy among others. Already, the facility which is the first of a two-phase project, and financed with 250 million dollars from Exim USA and HSBC UK with support from US and French governments, is admitting patients. One key concern at the opening of the facility was proper maintenance. Technology partner, GE Healthcare was in charge of supply and installation of the equipment in the new facility.
