The 3Sports team caught up with Christian Atsu, who is holidaying in Accra after a difficult 2020/21 season, which ended with him announcing his departure from Newcastle United.
The Ghana winger was in and out of the first team and played only 10 minutes as he was not in the plans of manager Steve Bruce.
Atsu, who played a crucial role in Newcastle’s Premier League promotion 2016, would have hoped for a better ending, but he is not devastated by how things panned out.
The 29-year-old looked calm when kelvin Owusu Ansah visited him at his house last week.
The two had a personal conversation, in which Atsu opened up among other things his toughest opponent, top five players, top five coaches, preferred hairstyle and tattoos on his body.
He revealed having a tattoo of his late mother’s portrait and one inspired by Lionel Messi.
