According to entertainment journalist Arnold Asamoah, Amerado has not gotten to the pinnacle of receiving the title of best rapper. He placed Eno Barony as the one likely to carry the award home from VGMA 2021.

He said, “Last week I saw bits about your show. And I saw the likes of Dan Lartey shouting plenty if we don’t give it to Amerado the … Massa, state your opinion and go home. Don’t make and tell us that if we don’t give it to Amerado, nobody should take it.”
“It is Eno. In my opinion and in my estimation. It’s your opinion if you feel Amerado should win. No disrespect to him, but I feel it’s about time Eno wins rapper of the year.”

According to Arnold, the criteria has little to do with the popularity of the nominated song. He explained that it is about the performance and dexterity of the rapper on the song.

When MzGee pointed out that the votes depend on the popularity of the song. He responded by saying that, “The definition of the category doesn’t talk about popularity. It talks about your skill. How were you able to execute the rap skill on that particular song. So for me, Amerado is a star but nowhere close when it comes to Eno. It is Eno’s award to take home.”
