Upcoming artistes asked to ‘stop feeling entitled and work hard’

November 15, 2018

Ghanaian musician and producer Kirani Ayat has charged upcoming artistes in Ghana to focus on their music career by working hard to get to the top.

The Hausa rapper who was speaking on 3Xtra Radio on 3FM 92.7 asked upcoming artiste to move away from looking up to established musicians and industry players to help them, and work hard to build their own careers, since no one owes them anything.

“Stop feeling entitled… nobody owes you anything, grind for what you want,” Ayat said.

The talented rapper and singer cited an example of how he has had to work hard as an artiste under no music label, to be recognized.

Ayat also took a swipe at some event organizers in the country who take advantage of some new artistes and decide not to pay them for their services.

“Pay artistes; pay them if you need their services. Pay us, we deserve it, we need it,” he emphasized.
