UN honours TV3’s Natalie Fort with prestigious award
The United Nation’s Global Public Service has bestowed on Ghana’s fast rising television news anchor Natalie Fort, the prestigious Gold Star Order of the Companion Honour, for her contribution to humanity. Natalie, who co-host TV3’s primetime News, News360, was also awarded by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) for her service with the Ghana Philanthropy Forum where she serves as a patron. She was decorated with the award in Accra Monday together with second deputy Speaker of Parliament, Alban S.K Bagbin, who was also recognized for contribution to humanity.
The UN launched the award scheme in 2003 to promote and support innovations aligned with the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for the support and realization of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It recognises the ability to reach the poorest and most vulnerable through inclusive services, partnerships and initiatives, all in efforts to achieve the SDGs. Natalie who is the founder of the Fort Foundation, has been supporting Ghana’s health sector through the refurbishment of healthcare centres and provision of financial aid to less fortunate patients with healthcare needs.
Receiving her award, Miss Fort urged media personalities use their platforms to serve humanity. Mr. Bagbin who is the MP for Nadowli-Kaleo expressed gratitude for the award, and encouraged politicians to foster harmony and promote development. By editors.3news.com|Ghana
