Two people have been injured at the Steps to Christ Polling Station in the Awutu Senya East Constituency after a shooting incident on Monday, December 7.
Media General‘s reporter Rosina Foster, who was in the Constituency to observe the elections, reported that the incident occurred when the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate, Naa Koryoo Okunor, showed up to cast her vote.
Two policemen who saw the shooting said authorities are investigating the incident, Rosina Forster further reported.
This is not the first time that weapons have been brandished in this Constituency.
During the voters’ registration exercise, the incumbent Member of Parliament, Mavis Hawa Koomson, pulled a weapon and fired in what she later described as defending herself.
