TV3’s Grace Hammoah Asare receives GIJ Eminence Award

TV3’s Grace Hammoah Asare is one of 30 alumni of the Ghana Institute of Jornalism (GIJ) honoured at the 4th edition of the GIJ Eminence Awards. She was recognized for how fast she has risen in her chosen field, especially with news anchoring, presentation and reporting, after just a year. The award comes six months after she was adjudged Best Female Newsreader in Accra at the 2019 edition of the Foklex Media Awards. Grace Hammoah Asare and the 29 other alumni of GIJ below 60 years were celebrated for their various contributions in their respective fields in the country. Speaking after receiving her award, the [email protected] presenter said the recognition meant a lot to her and will challenge her to do more. She encouraged young people to determine in their endeavours and not let any obstacles distract them, especially financially. “I was the highest owing student in GIJ from 2011-2014. It was very embarrassing and challenging. At a point I was disqualified from a leadership position because of that but that didn’t deter me.  I know there’s more to do but I’m grateful and will encourage all students and young people to remain focused and prayerful.” The GIJ Eminence Awards, which came off on Friday, November 1, was to celebrate students, lecturers and alumni of the institute who are excelling in their various fields. Host of 3FM’s Ideal Home Etornam Sey was also honoured. Source:|Ghana]]>
