According to eyewitnesses, it all started after school authorities seized mobile phones belonging to some final year students on last Wednesday and destroyed them after holding an emergency assembly meeting in the school.

This did not go down well with some of the students leading to one of the students exchanging abusive words with the headmaster, demanding that his mobile phone is given back to him.

They therefore planned attack on those in charge of the examinations and the school authorities.

Fortunately, targeted members of the school authorities managed to escape before the attackers came, but the unrelenting students visited their anger on properties of the school.

The police were called in to help maintain order. About 22 students have been arrested in connection with the riot.
