The entire campus of Bekwai Senior High School (SHS) has been plunged into darkness after rainstorm ripped 3 masters bungalows and parts of some classrooms.
Aside the devastating nature of the rainstorm on Bekwai SHS campus, Thursday night’s torrential rains also ripped off roofs of several basic schools, houses and structures, leaving affected students stranded as teaching and learning has to be halted.
Speaking on Akoma FM‘s current affairs and political show GhanAkoma Municipal Chief Executive for Bekwai Kwaku Kyei Baafour explained that the torrential rains have displaced several residents but badly hit were structures on Bekwai SHS campus and that of some basic schools.
The MCE told host of the show Aduanaba Kofi Asante Ennin that “as I am speaking with you now, we are yet to officially tour the affected areas and have full grip of the situation so we can approach the situation head-on.”
Akoma FM‘s checks on Bekwai SHS campus revealed that though the devastating nature on campus is quite disturbing, classes are still underway and all other activities are ongoing.
The MCE further assured of immediate response to restore lights on campus, re-roof the affected basic schools and ensure relief items are secured for the affected residents.
