The exchanges must stop – Mahama demands ceasefire between Sammy Gyamfi & Pablo

Three-time flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama says he has held separate meetings with the party’s National Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi, and the retained National Youth Organiser, George Opare Addo, over the recent exchanges between the two.

The exchanges reached a crescendo in the immediate aftermath of Mr Opare Addo’s re-election as the National Youth Organiser on Saturday, December 10.

He defeated his only challenger, Yaw Brogya Genfi, who has been openly campaigned for by Sammy Gyamfi prior to the elections.

Mr Gyamfi is said to have stormed the Youth and Women’s Conference at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) to convince delegates to vote for his candidate, Brogya Genfi.

But at the end of polls, Mr Opare Addo, popularly known as Pablo, garnered 533 votes to beat Mr Brogya Genfi, who had 508 out of the 1,041 total valid votes cast.

The exchanges between Pablo and Sammy Gyamfi transcended to Ningo Prampram Member of Parliament Sam Nartey George, who also fired salvos at the re-elected Youth Organisers.

But according to Mr Mahama, the meetings culminated in an agreement “with them that the current exchanges must stop”.

“It brings our great party no benefit and only serves as a distraction from the hardship caused by the reckless management of our economy,” he posted on his official Facebook page on Thursday, December .
