Thank you for helping me grow Agric sector – Afriyie Akoto tells Akufo-Addo

Former Minister of Food and Agriculture, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto has thanked President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the opportunity he gave him to serve the country in that capacity.

Dr Afiyies Akoto said it was a great honour and privilege to serve the Ministry in the last five years.

“I express my sincere gratitude to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the confidence reposed in me to lead agric industry.

“I thank the NPP for contributing to the sector’s growth. I appreciate Ghanaians for their support,” he tweeted.

He tendered his resignation from government on Tuesday January 10.

He resigned in a letter submitted to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo after a meeting at the Jubilee House on Tuesday, January 10.

He is among some big wigs of the governing who are said to have been harbouring ambitions to take over from President Akufo-Addo as the party’s Presidential Candidate for the next elections in 2024.
