[Video]Tempane SHS closed down after students demo

Some students moving out of the school[/caption] Reports from the Upper East Region indicate that the regional  Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the District Chief Executive of Tempane have gone to close the school down following a demonstration by students on Tuesday.  The students were reportedly demanding the reinstatement of their headmaster, who was suspended in October for allowing a political campaign to take place on the campus. The GES Regional Directorate had directed that the headmaster of the school hand over to the directorate after a visit by then Deputy National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), Joshua Akamba. Joshua Akamba was seen in a video inciting some students of the school against government’s Free SHS policy. He asked the students if they were experiencing issues with bedbugs in their dormitories as a result of congestion, occasioned by the policy. They responded in the affirmative. He made the students show their bedbug scars to the cameras, and promised them their challenges would be over in 2020 if they vote out the NPP. Our Upper East Region correspondent, Rabiu Mohammed Tanko, reports that most of the students have left campus already. The final year students have, however, defied the order. They say they will gravely be affected if they leave campus hence their defiance. Source: 3news.com|Ghana]]>
