The Tema Regional Police Commander DCOP Barima Tweneboah Sasraku II has issued a stern warning to land guards who are terrorizing citizens that the Police will come after them.
The warning comes as the Tema Regional Police Commander on February 3, 2021, met with Chiefs and people of the Region on some concerns raised by the Kpone Traditional council on the growing rate of land and boundary disputes in the area.
DCOP Barima Tweneboah Sasraku II assured the Chiefs and people of adequate steps put in place by the Command to deal with numerous criminal cases associated with land disputes in the Tema enclave.
According to the Commander, it was time Chiefs and Traditional Leaders differentiated between the criminal aspect of land disputes and those that need to be settled by the Traditional Councils.
He said, the Command would go hard on persons taking undue advantage of areas with land disputes to perpetrate crime – all in the name of landgaurds and land agents.
“Certain people who call themselves landguards and unauthorised people are selling lands to the detriment of the chiefs and the paramouncies and we are resolved to ensure that these practices stop,” Commander DCOP Barima Tweneboah Sasraku II said.
