Preparations are underway at the State House as it gets ready to host the final funeral rites of Christian Atsu on Friday, March 17.

The former Black Stars winger died in February after being trapped in rubble for several days following a massive earthquake in Turkey.

As a large gathering is expected to mourn the loss of the beloved footballer, the State House is being prepared to accommodate the mourners.

3Sports’ Bill Eshun visited the venue on Thursday and witnessed the ongoing preparations.

During his career, Atsu played over 60 matches for the Black Stars and scored nine goals, earning a reputation as a talented and hardworking player. His sudden death has shocked the football community, and his funeral is expected to be attended by many of his former teammates, coaches, and fans.
