Ten-man South Korea beat Ghana 3-1 in friendly

Ghana’s Black Meteors scored their first goal in three matches but conceded three goals as they lost 3-1 to 10-man South Korea in a friendly played on Saturday.

It is the third straight defeat for Paa Kwesi Fabin’s team in their Asian tour. They were battered 10-0 on aggregate by Japan in the space of three days in Tokyo.

They will play their final against South Korea on Tuesday before returning to Ghana.

Black Meteors wanted to make amends for the Japan humiliation and they started the game well, but they were stunned in the 17th minute when the Koreans scored through skipper Lee Sangmee

Seven minutes to halftime, Ghana were given hope of staging a comeback as South Korea were reduced to 10 men.

But 10 men Koreans doubled their lead 14 minutes after the break courtesy of Lee Suegmoo’s rebound.

Cho Guesung then turned brilliantly to elude three defenders before blasting in his side’s third in the 66th minute.

Substitute Samuel Obeng scored Ghana’s consolation goal
