Spurs appoint Ange Postecoglou as new manager

Ange Postecoglou has been named as the new manager of Tottenham Hotspur, signing a four-year contract with the club.

The 57-year-old Greek-Australian manager departs Celtic after achieving back-to-back Scottish Premiership titles during his two-year tenure.

Postecoglou becomes Spurs’ fourth permanent manager since Mauricio Pochettino guided them to the UEFA Champions League final in the 2018-2019 season, following in the footsteps of Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo, and Antonio Conte.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy expressed his enthusiasm about Postecoglou’s appointment, highlighting the manager’s positive mindset and fast, attacking style of play.

Levy also commended his ability to develop players and his understanding of the club’s emphasis on the academy.

The search for a new manager began in March following Conte’s departure, with Cristian Stellini and Ryan Mason temporarily assuming the managerial duties.
