Sellas Tetteh receives GHC50k donation from GFA Foundation

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Foundation has donated GHC50,000.00  to former Black Satellites Coach Sellas Tetteh, who led the national under-20 team to win the World Cup in 2009.

As part of the association’s initiative to support struggling personalities through the newly established GFA Foundation, the first donation was made to Tetteh who had been battling with ailments in recent times.

The GFA president Kurt Okraku who appreciated the efforts of the coach used the opportunity to clarify recent media reports that the GFA, or Ministry of Youth and Sports, owes the coach incentives and salaries.

Meanwhile, Sellas Tetteh had earlier received a donation of a similar amount from the Ministry of Youth and Sports in February after persistent calls in the media to support the veteran coach who was battling with health conditions.

He had also been visited with a donation of an undisclosed cash amount by Andre Ayew, the captain of the Black Satellites team which was coached by Sellas Tetteh to World Cup glory in 2009.

The former Rwanda national team head coach has previously worked with the Black Starlets and Sierra Leone.

He also led the Black Satellites to third place in Turkey at the 2013 U-20 World Cup.
