Sulley Muntari has scored his first goal for Hearts of Oak since joining the Ghanaian champions on a one-year deal last month.

The former AC Milan and Inter man scored the winner as Hearts beat WAFA 2-1 in Accra to bounce back to winning ways in the Ghana Premier League.

Muntari’s goal came via the penalty spot less than 15 minutes from time.

Kwadwo Obeng Jr gave Hearts the lead a minute after the halftime break but WAFA equalised through Derrick Mensah who scored a superb free-kick.

With the game heading for a stalemate, President Cup hero Patrick Razak was fouled in the penalty box by WAFA goalkeeper.

Muntari stepped up and scored to hand Hearts their first three points since January 30, 2022, when they beat King Faisal 1-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Hearts have climbed to 6th and are 12 points behind league leaders Asante Kotoko while WAFA stay in the relegation zone.
