Former Black Stars assistant coach Maxwell Konadu has revealed the reason behind his surprise move to Nsoatreman FC.

Speaking to 3Sports on GPL Xpress, Konadu stated that the facilities and support from the management were key factors in his decision.

“My decision is based on the facilities they have and the support that the management gives to the team. It is very important. When you have a team that the young ones want to play it’s good so everybody is doing his best. Training is always fine and nobody is making excuses. We are always united,” Konadu explained.

He added that the players have done well in adapting to the systems and principles put in place by the technical team, which has contributed to the team’s current success.

“I think we first have to congratulate the playing body. They’ve done so well when we started we found it difficult to cope with the systems and the principles we were putting in place but once they have understood and agreed to do as we want, everything is going on smoothly,” Konadu noted.

After parting ways with Legon Cities, Konadu joined Nsoatreman and has helped the team secure a second-place position so far this season, following a 13th-place finish in their debut season. The team is now focused on achieving a top-half finish this year.

The 50-year-old former Ghana forward led Asante Kotoko to the Ghana Premier League title in 2012. This achievement paved the way for his involvement with the Black Stars, where he served as an assistant coach from 2014 to 2019.
