Manchester United secured a dramatic 2-1 Premier League victory over Brentford with a remarkable comeback, thanks to Scott McTominay’s late heroics.

The match initially appeared to be heading towards another disappointing result for United, as they were trailing due to Mathias Jensen’s first-half goal for Brentford.

Manager Erik ten Hag turned to McTominay with only three minutes remaining in a desperate attempt to salvage the match, and the Scottish midfielder answered the call in spectacular fashion.

McTominay displayed exceptional composure as he capitalised on a Kristoffer Ajer clearance mishap inside the Brentford box, slotting the ball home to equalize.

Then, following a low shot from Anthony Martial that was saved by Thomas Strakosha, McTominay reacted swiftly to a Harry Maguire flick-on and delivered the decisive goal.

The Old Trafford faithful celebrated fervently long after the final whistle, as their team embarked on a lap of honour. While the celebration might have seemed excessive, given the circumstances, it was entirely warranted for the ecstatic United fans.
