Manchester City have been charged by the Football Association (FA) with failing to control their players during the 3-3 draw with Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Sunday.

The incident occurred in the 94th minute of the game when several City players surrounded referee Simon Hooper after he stopped play for a foul on Erling Haaland in the build-up to a goal for Jack Grealish.

The FA stated that City have been charged with a breach of FA Rule E20.1, which relates to the behaviour of players towards match officials.

It is alleged that the club failed to ensure their players did not behave improperly during the incident.

City have until Thursday to respond to the charge. If found guilty, they could face disciplinary action, including fines.

This development comes at a critical juncture in the season, with City currently placed third in the Premier League table, three points behind leaders Arsenal. Their next fixture sees them travel to face Aston Villa on Wednesday.
