Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James further cemented his status as an all-time great late in the first quarter of Tuesday’s game against the San Antonio Spurs at AT&T Center.
With under three seconds remaining in the period, James pulled up from a few steps inside the three-point arc and drained a jumper to eclipse 30,000 career points.
The three-time champion became the seventh player to join the 30,000-point club and the youngest ever to reach that milestone. Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant did so at 34 years, 104 days. James bettered that mark by a year and 80 days.
Teammate and longtime friend Dwyane Wade was the first person to celebrate with James on the court following the first quarter. James also received an ovation from many in AT&T Center.
The King congratulated himself on Instagram ahead of the occasion earlier in the day.
