Asante Kotoko fans did not hold back their disappointment and expressed their frustration by booing the players after the team’s defeat to Dreams FC in Kumasi on Sunday.

Expecting a victory at the Baba Yara Stadium, the fans were left disheartened as they witnessed their team’s 1-0 loss, extending their winless streak to four games. This marked Kotoko’s third defeat of the season, leaving them with just one point above the relegation zone, highlighting the challenging season for the Porcupine Warriors.

As the players departed from the dressing room to make their way to the team bus, the echoing boos from the fans clearly echoed their frustration with the lacklustre performance they had just witnessed. While Dreams FC may not have been at their peak performance, Kotoko’s failure to mount a substantial challenge left the fans deeply dissatisfied. Adding to their discontent, some fans have voiced concerns that the players, rather than prioritising rest and recovery after training, are often seen partying late into the night.

Midfielder Abdul Aziz Issah’s well-executed strike from a free-kick found the back of the net, leaving goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad with no chance as it nestled into the bottom corner in the 39th minute. This goal secured Dreams FC’s first league victory in Kumasi, marking a return to the winning column.

The pressure is mounting on Kotoko, who haven’t secured a win since October 13, following their previous back-to-back victories against Accra Lions and Aduana FC. Coach Prosper Ogum is starting to feel the heat as his second term with Kotoko has yet to inspire. The team’s performances have been largely uninspiring, leading fans to question his leadership.

Kotoko’s next game against Samartex is deemed a must-win for Ogum and his team as they aim to turn their season around.
