It was a thrilling and compelling night of boxing at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra as the boxing world came to a standstill as some of the best young and experienced boxers showcased their skillset and prowess at the King Of The Ring 3 boxing event.
The mega-event organized by Monarch Boxing Promotions was headlined by the ABU Women’s African Super Bantam vacant title bout between Nigeria’s Adijat Gbadamosi and Zimbabwe’s Patience Mastara and also the keenly contested WBC Silver Super Fly vacant title between Tasif Khan (United Kingdom) and David Barreto (Venezuela), with several other intense undercard bouts, which took the fans into a frenzy.
Ghana’s Super Middleweight national champion, Prince Oko Nartey, recorded a 3rd Round TKO win over Felix Mankata to take his tally of wins to 10 in his 11 professional fights.
Reacting to the victory, Prince Oko Nartey accepted the challenge from veteran Obodai Sai for the national title and stated he is ready for tough challenges in the future.
In the main event of the night, WBO Africa Super flyweight champion Tasif Khan achieved a 2nd Round knockout over Venezuelan challenger David Barreto to win the WBC Silver Super Flyweight title.
The solitary female bout on the night saw Nigeria’s Adijat Gbadamosi defeat Zimbabwean Patience Mastara by 5th Round TKO to become the new ABU Female Super Bantam weight champion.
Mastara suffered an apparent leg injury that restricted her movement after getting off to a good start against the Nigerian challenger.
Speaking after the event, CEO of Monarch Promotions Prince Stanley Williams expressed his profound delight and appreciation to the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) and the fans that turned up at the event, describing both as “very receptive and friendly”.
