Jose Mourinho charged for using abusive language towards referee Anthony Taylor

AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho has been charged by UEFA for using insulting or abusive language towards an official during the Europa League final held on Wednesday in Budapest.

The 60-year-old Portuguese coach received a booking from English referee Anthony Taylor during the match, in which Roma lost to Sevilla in a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw.

Following the heated game, Mourinho was captured on camera engaging in a confrontation with Taylor in a car park, where he unleashed a foul-mouthed rant towards the official. The incident has led to UEFA taking disciplinary action against the Roma coach for his behaviour.

In addition to Mourinho’s charges, both AS Roma and Sevilla are facing several charges related to the conduct of their respective fans during the final.

The governing body will investigate and evaluate the conduct of supporters from both clubs to determine if any disciplinary measures need to be taken.
