Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has completed his move to Saudi Arabian club Al-Ettifaq on a three-year deal.

The England international joins the club in a move worth £12m plus add-ons bringing to an end a 12-year career at Anfield.

The 33-year-old joins a host of Premier League players who have transferred to the Saudi Professional League including Cristiano Ronaldo, Ruben Neves, Kalidou Koulibaly and Edouard Mendy among others.

The move will also see him reunite with his former Liverpool teammate Steven Gerrard who now manages the Saudi Arabian outfit.

“Everyone at the club wishes to place on record their thanks and gratitude for everything Jordan did for us,” said a Liverpool statement.

Henderson joined Liverpool from Sunderland in 2011 in a £20 million deal and has since then been an integral member of the team. He inherited the armband in 2015 from Steven Gerrard who was also departing the club after a 12-year spell
