Isaac ‘The Royal Storm’ Dogboe became the new WBO Super Bantamweight Champion following his 11th round technical knock-out (TKO) to American Jessie Magdaleno.

By Saturday night’s feat, the 23-year-old Ghanaian boxer becomes the country’s youngest ever world champion.

He breaks Ike Quartey’s record set in 1994, when he annexed the WBA Welterweight title at 25 years after beating Venezuelan Crisanto Espana.

The two went into the bout at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with enviable unbeaten records.

The American’s stood at 25 wins while Dogboe’s was at 18.

But the Ghanaian brimmed with confidence ahead of the title fight, promising to emulate the likes of Azumah Nelson to bring the belt home.

And he did it in grand style despite a jolt in the first round when he slipped in the ring.

In the penultimate round, the hard-hitting 2012 Olympian sent his opponent to the canvas twice before securing the TKO.

He is expected to move upper into the featherweight division.
