Ghana forward Inaki Williams finally found his scoring boots following a crucial goal for Athletic Bilbao in the second leg of the semifinals of the Copa del Rey against Osasuna on Tuesday.

Osasuna had the advantage going into the match after a narrow first leg victory, but Bilbao were determined to overturn the result and applied massive pressure from the start.

The crucial moment arrived in the 33rd minute when Williams smashed the ball into the roof of the net at the end of an expertly delivered corner kick to level the match on aggregate.

The goal ended Inaki Williams’ 24-game scoreless streak while sending the game into extra time due to Bilbao’s wastefulness.

However, four minutes to the end of extra time, Pablo Ibanez came through with a goal for Osasuna restoring the lead on aggregate and eventually proceeding to the final of the Copa del Rey at the expense of Athletic Bilbao.

Despite the team’s exit, Inaki Williams would be excited after finally finding the back of the net after over five months.

Having switched nationality from Spain to Ghana in June 2022, the 28-year-old is yet to score for the Black Stars having played eight matches.
